Kellie Green, MA, CCC-SLP, IBCLC is a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), who is passionate about supporting families through their breastfeeding journeys. With a strong background in infant feeding and oral motor development, she blends her expertise in speech pathology with specialized lactation support to provide comprehensive care to newborns and their families.

She earned her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology and has accumulated extensive clinical experience working with infants and children facing feeding and communication challenges. Recognizing the critical intersection between feeding and communication, she pursued further training to become an IBCLC, allowing her to offer specialized breastfeeding support.

Kellie’s approach is holistic and family-centered, focusing on empowering parents with the knowledge and skills needed for successful breastfeeding. She believes in the importance of collaboration and works closely with pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each family receives coordinated and compassionate care.

Whether it's helping a baby latch effectively, addressing oral motor issues, or providing guidance on breastfeeding techniques, Kellie is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of the families she serves. Her goal is to help every family achieve their feeding goals, fostering healthy growth and development for their infants.

FEEDING FOUNDATIONS TRAINING: BECOMING A LACTATION SPECIALIST AS AN SLP

Course Description

This specialized course is crafted for SLPs eager to expand their expertise to include lactation support. Focusing on the intricate relationship between infant feeding and lactation, this course aims to provide SLPs with the comprehensive knowledge and skills required to become certified lactation specialists.

Course Learner outcomes

The learner will be able to…

1) Explain Lactation Basics and the fundamental anatomy and physiology of lactation and breastfeeding.

2) Assess and Support Infant Feeding by identifying common feeding challenges and apply basic techniques to support successful breastfeeding.

3) Prepare for Lactation Certification by outlining the steps required to become a certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) and develop a plan to meet certification requirements.

This training is offered for 0.2 ASHA CEUs / 2 Professional Development Hours

Course Completion Requirement: Participants are expected to be present for the entire program to receive completion certificate and be reported for ASHA CEUs. Individuals who are not present for the full program will not receive completion certificate and ASHA CEUs. No partial credit will be provided.

  • PROFESSIONALS: $39.50 ($35.00 Registration Fee + $4.50 Online Processing/Administration Fee )

  • STUDENTS - must be currently enrolled in a university/college degree seeking program: $19.50 ($15.00 Registration Fee + $4.50 Online Processing/Administration Fee)

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: WEDNESDAY, april 2, 2025 @ 5PM CST

Course Cancellation Policy: No refunds of online payment processing/administration fee. 100% of registration fee will be refunded if cancellation is received prior to March 1, 2025. 50% of registration fee will be refunded if cancellation is received March 1 - March 14, 2025. No refunds if cancelled on March 15, 2025 and thereafter. Cancellation must be submitted in writing via email to info@nashvillespeechandswallowing.com. All refunds returned following course date. If course is cancelled by Nashville Speech & Swallowing Specialists, PLLC participants will receive a refund of registration fees.
