speaker & DISCLOSURES

Barbara Jack-Yehsakul MA, CCC-SLP, MBSR certified

Barbara “Barbie” Jack-Yehsakul is a Speech-Language Pathologist with extensive experience assisting individuals with communication across all stages of life. From pediatrics to adult rehabilitation, she has consistently focused on a holistic approach to therapy. She believes that mindfulness and Speech-Language Pathology are integral parts of a broader network that includes medicine, education, therapies, and families—all of which work together to give each patient the best chance of success.

Barbie has experience as both a speech therapy patient and a therapist. During her seven years of therapy for disfluency, she learned firsthand how the mind-body connection can enhance communication and lead to more effective outcomes. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Miami University and a Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Cincinnati. Throughout her career, she has always prioritized the mental wellness of her patients alongside their communication goals.

A desire to explore the connection between the body and mind further led her to pursue certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and integrate mindfulness techniques into her therapy sessions.

Financial Disclosures: Barbara Jack-Yehsakul is receiving an honorarium for presenting the current training session.

Non-financial Disclosures: Barbara Jack-Yehsakul is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
